Following the recent revelations of the magnitude of sexual harassment in the workplace, we discovered that there is a huge culture of silence around sexual harassment. This conversation needs to be in the open to ensure the safety of each and every human being in the workplace, and everywhere else.

We want to understand how prevalent sexual harassment is in the workplace, the impact it has on survivors, and whether employers do address harassment with policies, training and acting on complaints.

Based on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act 2013, these are the behaviours that Indian law qualifies as creating a hostile environment in the workplace:
  • Off colour jokes or teasing
  • Comments about body parts or sex life
  • Suggestive or demeaning pictures, posters
  • Leering, staring, or gesturing
  • Touching – brushes, hugs, pinches
  • Assault
Your participation in the survey will help us gauge where employers need to improve and ensure safe workplaces for their employees.
