The Jewish Day School Social Media Academy is an academic year program to help schools advance their work in the connected age. Through the Academy, schools learn about new tools and strategies for fund development, new family recruitment and alumni engagement in the social media age, and then put their new skills to work, and mature their internal operations. Schools that are accepted into the Academy participate in an intensive year of training, coaching and project-based learning, and are encouraged to share their learning and accomplishments with the wider field. The 2013-14 JDS Social Media Academy will run October 2013-June 2014.

Schools accepted into the Academy are responsible for $10,000 participation fee, and are eligible for up to $10,000 of matching funds for their social fundraising campaign from The AVI CHAI Foundation, for a total of $20,000 in revenue.

This application contains 3 sections -- basic information, reflective narratives, and some final details. You don't need to write a formal essay for each question, but please be specific in your answers. All responses will be kept confidential and shared only with the coach of accepted schools as background information.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with acceptances being offered to those applications received by August 9th at 5pm pacific time. If space remains, additional applications will be entertained after that date. Accepted schools will be notified when they are approved. The complete cohort will be announced by the end of August, and the Academy will formally launch after Sukkot.
