JAFSCD Book Review Query Form

JAFSCD is open access as a community-supported journal. Learn more and see how to support us.

Thank you for your interest in reviewing a book or other item for JAFSCD! Use this form to either respond to a request made by JAFSCD or to propose a new publication for review.
We publish reviews of books, reports, films, training materials, and other information related to food systems development work. They need to be recently published (within the last 2 years). These publications should be of interest to an international audience and relate to one or more components of local or regional food systems (such as sustainable production, marketing and value chains, or food consumption), as long they have a community development element.
To propose a publication for review or to be contacted when we are seeking a reviewer, please provide the information below. We'll respond promptly to tell you if you've been selected. We will have a review copy sent to you by the publisher (as a hard copy or ebook) if you do not already have it in hand. See JAFSCD's published reviews to be sure your suggested item has not already been reviewed.
Book reviews for JAFSCD are between 750 and 1,000 words. Reviewers have about two months in which to complete their review from the time they receive the book. A template is sent to help guide them in drafting the review. Helpful editorial support is provided for new writers, and publication is quite prompt once a final draft is accepted.

If you have any questions, contact Matthew Hoffman, JAFSCD associate editor for book reviews. See more detail about book reviews at the JAFSCD website.
