1. Introduction and consent

Researchers at the University of Wollongong in Australia are conducting a project looking at issues in succession planning and capacity building in nursing faculty. We are particularly interested in adding an international perspective to our project.

The project is looking to develop strategies to take to government and higher education providers that we hope will improve the quantity and quality of nurse academics and educators.

We would like to know about your experience as a nurse academic/educator, and to hear from you about what you think might be needed to attract more people into the profession. Your answers will provide important information about what nurse educators themselves think about the future of the role of the nurse academic/educator.

The survey is completely anonymous and we will not be able to identify you in any way. We will however collect data from the surveys about the most common responses you give, and will publish this data, and some of your answers in reports and journal articles.

By completing this survey, you are also consenting to having your answers repeated (anonymously) in a published format. If you do not consent to this, please log off now.

The survey should only take 10 minutes (depending on how much you write!) and you can withdraw from the survey at any time by closing your browser window without submitting and your responses will not be stored.

And at the end of the survey, email us with a contact name and email address, and go in the draw to win a $200 (Australian dollars) Amazon.com Voucher!

This survey has been reviewed by the Human Research Ethics Committee at the University of Wollongong.
