AU Sport Intervarsity Certificate of Merit 2019 |
Criteria for Award
The AU Sport Board wishes to recognise the contribution and performance of University of Adelaide students, who represent the University of Adelaide in Intervarsity competition but are not a member of one of the affiliated AU Sport clubs.
The criteria for the award are:
1. The AU student athlete must take part in an AU Sport recognised Intervarsity competition including but not limited to: UniSport Australia sanctioned events (Nationals/AUC), Interclub Intervarsity competitions, University Rugby 7s and Go8 competitions
2. They must be recognised for their special performance at the event (eg MVP, team of the event or competition award)
3. The athlete must have contributed greatly to the team in a significant way, but did not play for that AU Sport club as its highest team was not of sufficient standard. Athletes, who compete in a sport that was not affiliated through AU Sport (eg handball, lawn bowls and ten pin bowling), would also be eligible.
4. The recognition be termed as an AU Sport Intervarsity ‘Certificate of Merit’ for outstanding performances and be given at the annual Blues awards function.
5. Nominations would be sought from AU Sport clubs and Intervarsity team managers.
For assessment of ‘level of contribution’ in criterion 2 above, the AU Sport Board would make that decision based on recommendations provided by the AU Sport staff.
