Hospital Doctors - Insights for Impact: Supporting Women Doctors

HCSA recognises that certain workplace issues predominantly and disproportionately impact women doctors throughout their careers. To help address these often sensitive and complex issues and assist women doctors in accessing appropriate support, our Women Focused Support (WFS) service provides confidential advice and representation from one of our female national officers — a pioneering initiative that makes HCSA the first trade union to offer such dedicated support. As the medical profession continues to evolve, with women increasingly entering the field, projections suggest that within the next decade, women may outnumber men in certain medical grades for the first time. Combined with the pressures of an ageing population, this shift highlights the urgent need for employers to adapt to the changing dynamics of the workforce. We are seeking your views, regardless of gender, to help shape and prioritise this unique service. Your input will be invaluable in guiding how we support women doctors in the years ahead.
