Indigo Shire Council wishes to find out if local families are happy for Council to introduce a new type of kinder registration / expressions of interest / application scheme for kindergartens across the Shire.  A model that we are currently investigating would involve families completing a standard online form on which they provide contact information and state which kinder they would prefer their child/ren to go to.  This information would be stored in one central location and each kinder would be notified of families who would like to enroll in their kinder program.  Kinders would then send out enrollment forms and allocate places to families.  Variations of this scheme have already been introduced into more than 50% of Councils throughout Victoria by the State Government.  It is designed to simplify the registration process, help Councils understand kindergarten building needs and make sure that all children across the Shire (including vulnerable children) can access kinder.  Please complete an online community survey to provide your thoughts and ideas about this new scheme by 22 August: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/indigoces.  For more information, please contact Sven Erikson at Indigo Shire on 03 5728 8024 or sven.erikson@indigoshire.vic.gov.au.
