Mini-workshop 1: PollardBase tutorial! Demonstration how to enter data in Pollardbase. Bring your completed field forms and a laptop to enter data on site with as much assistance as you need from Gary Morrissey, an experienced volunteer and Master Naturalist.
Mini-workshop 2: Map your route!
I need maps of your routes! Lily Barajas, Animal Caretaker at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, will show you how to use a smartphone app to map your routes and send them to me. Be ready to take a walk outside for this workshop.
Mini-workshop 3: Odonate identification help! Do you have photos of odonate species that have stumped you? Do you have questions on how to distinguish species that look similar? Bring in your photos and questions and Jim Phillips of the Cook County Forest Preserves and Gareth Blakesley of Lake Katherine Nature Center & Botanic gardens will help you with your odonate identification questions.
