NOTE: This training has been approved by OVW. Please do not make any travel arrangements until you receive a confirmation letter.
Futures Without Violence’s Institute for Leadership in Education Development offers a 2.5 day, hands on, highly interactive workshop that will help OVW grantees grantees improve the quality of their educational presentations and enhance their facilitation skills.
Workshop Learning Objectives
As a result of this workshop, participants will be better able to:
· Apply principles of effective adult learning to your teaching
· Evaluate your own facilitation strengths and weaknesses
· Practice facilitating challenging content in an adult learning environment

Who may attend?
Attendance is limited to 45 participants representing OVW grantees, including advocates, attorney-advocates, batterers intervention specialists, prosecutors, law enforcement, judges, and other professionals. Participants must agree to attend all workshop sessions as a condition of acceptance; the workshop begins Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. and concludes Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 12:15 p.m.
Grantees are strongly encouraged to participate in teams of 2 or 3 to maximize the benefit of the program. Teams interested in participating will need to submit an application for this training, with each individual applying separately and noting other team members in the space provided.
During this program, you will be required to create and demonstrate an educational presentation with your teammates. You are not required to utilize PowerPoint or other audio visual support, but it may be helpful to bring a laptop with you.
