The ICOVE is looking for a First Nations student to help us create a piece of artwork that will become part of our new national brand.
This is a chance to share the journey of First Nations learners and highlight how Vocational Education and Training (VET) empowers individuals through knowledge, cultural connection and skills development, creating pathways to employment, career growth and future training opportunities.
You don't have to be studying art or design. We’re more interested in your ideas and whether you’re happy to work with our team.

About ICOVE
The Indigenous Centre of Vocational Excellence (ICOVE) is a new national First Nations-led hub driving change across Australia’s VET system to create better training and job outcomes for Mob.
We believe First Nations knowledge, culture, leadership and community voices belong at the heart of VET.
Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) and Tranby Aboriginal Co-operative Ltd (Tranby) are hosting the ICOVE as part of Closing the Gap.
What are we looking for?
We want to create a piece of artwork that helps people recognise the ICOVE.
Your artwork could represent ideas such as:
- Mob and community
- Yarning and knowledge sharing
- Connection
- Pathways
- Learning and growth
- Leadership
- Our future
You will work with the ICOVE team to develop your idea and make sure the final artwork can be used across everything from the website to social media, merchandise, event signage + more.
We'll yarn with you about things like:
- What we need
- When we need it by
- How much we’ll pay
Who can apply?
This opportunity is open to First Nations students currently enrolled in a First Nation Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Your course doesn't need to be art or design, and you don't need a long CV or any professional experience.

What happens next?
The ICOVE team will review all expressions of interest.
If you're shortlisted, we'll have a yarn with you about your ideas, creative approach and how we could work together.
We'll then select the artist/designer we'd like to commission.
Everyone who is eligible and sends us an EOI will hear back from us.
