Survey on Kidney Transplantation between HLA identical siblings: immunological assessment and immunosuppression

Why we are circulating this survey

Kidney transplant recipients from HLA-identical siblings as living donors are believed to show better outcomes with lower risk of rejection and longer graft survival compared to other types of kidney transplantation, even from other living donors. Though immunosuppression need seems to be lower, there are no clear recommendations for these patients. Furthermore, with the new available immunological techniques, risks are better assessed and it is unknown if immunosuppression should be tailored accordingly.

With your help, we aim to analyze which is the immunosuppression treatment currently used for HLA identical sibling living donor kidney transplantation across Europe in the new era of a more accurate HLA antibody assessment.
