2026-2028 UTSW-Parkland Health Equity Scholars Program Application

The UTSW-Parkland Health Equity Scholars Program is a 2-year initiative that provides 20% protected time for Clinician-Educator and Clinician track faculty to lead and implement projects or research that supports the mission of both UTSW and Parkland to deliver equitable care to all.

Year 1 focuses on structured training and applied learning. Scholars participate in bi-weekly didactic sessions covering core areas such as epidemiology, research methods, quality improvement in healthcare, health systems and safety nets, and healthcare law and policy. In parallel, scholars complete administrative rotations across UTSW and Parkland, gaining direct exposure to operational teams, population health strategies, and system-level initiatives.

Year 2 focuses on project execution and leadership development. Scholars implement their projects with mentorship support while participating in the Office of Faculty Development’s LEAD program, a year-long leadership development cohort designed to strengthen management, communication, and strategic skills.
