Many lawmakers do not have a line-of-site into the role employers play in driving and supporting innovation in the health care market to manage health care costs. To demonstrate employers' efforts in this area, the Council is partnering with Mercer to publish a paper highlighting the employer role in health care innovation. The paper will be used to support the Council’s advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill and with regulatory agencies.

Such initiatives could include (but are not limited to):
  • Focused network solutions (Accountable Care Organization (ACO), Patient-Centered Medical Home, High-Performance Network, Surgical Center of Excellence)
  • Alternative site of care (Primary care on-site clinic, telemedicine, retail clinic)
  • Reference-based pricing supported by a transparency tool
  • Health advocacy via a specialized vendor such as Accolade, Quantum, etc.
  • Expert medical opinion program
  • Chronic condition management programs
  • Technology-based well-being resources (apps, devices, web-based)
  • Pharmacy management
We would very much appreciate your contribution to this project. If we plan to use your story, we will draft a brief summary and submit it to you for review and approval. While we would like to be able to associate company names with their initiatives, submissions can be made anonymous upon your request. (Your contact information will be requested at the end of the submission process.)
