General Information

This year the 40th GLMA Annual Conference on LGBTQ Health will be held in San Francisco from October 19-22, 2022. GLMA is committed to ensuring students—from across the health professions—are able to attend the Annual Conference. Therefore, we are able to provide a limited number of scholarships to help offset the cost of attending the Annual Conference. Student scholarships are available due to the generosity of GLMA members and conference attendees!

Students of all health professional disciplines are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be students currently enrolled (part or full-time) in an undergraduate or graduate/professional degree program with plans to pursue a career in the health professions.

We will be considering two different cohorts of students for selection: one cohort will be comprised of students local to/near San Francisco Bay area, and another cohort outside of the San Francisco Bay area.

Scholarship applications must be received by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on May 16, 2022. Applicants will be notified of scholarship decisions in June.

If selected for a scholarship, you will be expected to volunteer 6-8 hours. We will follow up with you if selected to gather information about your preferred schedule of volunteering. Your duties might include helping prepare conference materials, staffing the registration desk, serving as a session monitor, and other responsibilities as assigned.

Please note: Students selected will be required to register for the Annual Conference as a student scholarship recipient and submit credit card information. Your credit card will not be charged if you complete your volunteering responsibilities. Should you fail to fulfill your responsibilities, you will be charged a full student/trainee conference registration.

In addition to the waived conference fee, volunteers will receive priority consideration for reduced-rate student rooms at the host hotel, if available. The student reduced rate is $200/night plus taxes and fees. Students are responsible for paying for these reduced-rate rooms, if available, once reservations are made. We will follow up with you if selected to gather information about your rooming preferences.

Unfortunately, no travel funds are available.
