AIFS Abroad and IES Abroad seek to support the professional development of the next generation of exceptional leaders in international education programs. Successful applicants will be:
  • Based in the U.S.
  • Employed at a U.S.-based college or university
  • Full-time professionals in Education Abroad
Special emphasis will be given to:
  • Individuals with demonstrated need who may otherwise be unable to attend the conference without financial assistance
  • Individuals from backgrounds underrepresented in the field
  • Individuals who are employed at MSIs (i.e. HBCUs, HSIs, AANAPISIs, tribal colleges, and 2-year institutions)
  • Individuals who have never attended an annual conference
RECOMMENDED: Draft and save your responses in a separate document! We encourage you to review the full survey, and prepare your responses offline. In the event the survey times out, copying and pasting will be easier for you than re-creating your work.

To allow for the widest possible reach, one individual per institution may apply to
one conference per cycle or academic year. A cycle includes Global Impact by DA Global in the Fall, and Forum + NAFSA in the Spring. Example: ABC University can apply to Forum 2027 (AY 2026-27), and the next time an individual from the university can apply is AY 2027-28.
