Genome BC Inclusion & Workplace Culture Audit

The following survey is the synthesis of a previous analysis of Genome BC’s organizational culture, combined with recent work around measuring how included employees feel in the workplace. The resulting survey integrates questions that reflect research conducted by Deloitte and the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (2013); the Guarding Minds @Work survey, which is based on the Canadian Standards of Psychological Health and Safety; and the employee data collected around Genome BC’s organizational culture in 2018.
Employees feel included when:
  • They feel they are treated fairly;
  • When their uniqueness is valued and appreciated while having a sense of belonging;  
  • When they feel confident to contribute to problem-solving, ideation and giving feedback; 
  • When they feel psychologically safe. 
This survey is based on these four factors, plus five additional themes reflected in the data collected around Genome BC’s workplace culture. Combined, the survey covers the following nine areas of focus:
