The segment of NW Garfield Avenue between NW Kings Boulevard and NW 9th Street will be repaved as part of the City of Corvallis’ Capital Improvement Program with the schedule to be determined. The repaving may enhance the existing bike lanes such as through the addition of painted buffers. Due to the constrained width of the road, an evaluation of a possible tradeoff with existing space for on-street parking is required. City staff developed a procedure for evaluating parking in these situations, and City Council supported using the procedure to inform a recommendation.

The City has finished collecting and analyzing parking inventory and utilization data on NW Garfield Avenue from NW 9th Street to NW Kings Boulevard and within approximately a one block distance (varies) on neighboring streets. The results are informing a recommendation to potentially remove parking (subject to City Council confirmation).

You can explore the survey results on the City website.
