The Gaithersburg Police Department is a nationally-accredited law enforcement agency that shares responsibility for services with the Montgomery County Police, providing coverage 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Department responds to calls for service as necessary and utilizes community action teams, when appropriate, to solve problems and deal with issues affecting the safety of all City neighborhoods.

Striving for continuous improvement, the Gaithersburg Police Department is committed to providing quality, professional service to everyone. Community members or visitors to Gaithersburg who have had any experience with any police employee, or the Department as a whole, are invited to share their opinions by completing this online survey. You do not need to provide your name or address.

This survey is about the Gaithersburg Police Department and the service it provides to individuals within the City of Gaithersburg. Please note that the Gaithersburg Police Department has co-jurisdiction within the geographical boundaries of the City of Gaithersburg with the Montgomery County Police Department, whose officers wear uniforms similar to the Gaithersburg Police Department. The easiest way to distinguish an officer’s department is the shoulder patch on the uniform and the type/markings on the police car.
