Recognizing and Celebrating Volunteers

As part of their mission to foster a culture of volunteerism at the North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC), the Volunteer Involvement (VI) Committee has introduced the Lottie Frenssen Volunteer Award to recognize and celebrate the significant contributions of our volunteers.

The award is named after long-time volunteer Lottie Frenssen, who supported the organization for an impressive 50 years! She worked tirelessly as a volunteer to support a culture of philanthropy by raising funds for patient programs and equipment.

This award will be presented by the VI Committee on a bi-annual basis (spring and fall) to honour the dedicated volunteers who exemplify our values (Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) and have made a positive impact in our Health Centre.

Who is Eligible:

Any NBRHC volunteer who is registered with the Volunteer Department and has been actively volunteering for at least 50 hours of service is eligible for nomination.

To be considered for this award, the volunteer must demonstrate a commitment to:

 ·         Helping our patients, visitors and staff

·         Supporting quality, patient-centered care

·         Behaviour that reflects the values of our Health Centre

·         Fostering a culture of volunteerism

·         Promoting our Health Centre in the community

Nominations Selection and Process

Nomination forms will be accepted by the Volunteer Department throughout the year and will be reviewed by the VI Committee twice a year (spring and fall).  Nomination forms must be submitted by March 1st to be considered for a spring award and September 1st to be considered for a fall award.

The VI Committee will review each nomination and select recipients based on the nomination criteria. Following a group discussion, the recipients will be determined by a majority vote.
