Kinship Peer Learning Cohorts

Overview of the Opportunity (Read Before Applying)

The National Family Support Network (NFSN) and the Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network at Generations United are inviting a small, select group of Family Resource Centers (FRCs) to participate in two national peer learning cohorts focused on strengthening kinship engagement through real-world, practice-informed approaches.

Each cohort will bring together five FRCs nationwide for six months of facilitated peer learning, reflection, and applied practice. Participating sites will engage as a two-person team, consisting of one FRC staff member, and one kinship caregiver or lived-experience representative (the kin caregiver will receive an honorarium of $75 per hour for a total of two hours per month).

Cohort Options (Applicants may apply to one cohort only)
Cohort 1: School-Based Family Resource Centers & Kinship Engagement
Cohort 2: Engaging Male Kinship Caregivers through Family Resource Centers

Time Commitment:
- Six months, March–August
- One 60-minute virtual session per month
- Approximately 2 hours per month total
- About 12 hours total over the full cohort

Cohort meeting times:
Cohort 1 (School-Based): 2:00–3:00 pm ET (1:00-2:00 pm CT; 12:00-1:00 pm MT; 11:00 am-12:00 pm PT; 10:00-11:00 am Alaska time)

Cohort 2 (Male Kinship): 4:00–5:00 pm ET (3:00-4:00 pm CT; 2:00-3:00 pm MT; 1:00-2:00 pm PT; 12:00-1:00 pm Alaska time)
