Next to each practice are choices, including Met, Needs Work, Not Applicable and Don’t Know. After reading each, place a check mark under one appropriate choice to rate how well your organization does that practice today. Do not skip any questions.
If your organization is a corporation, then your organization does have a Board of Directors. So those practices are very relevant to your organization. Otherwise, ignore mention of a Board.
(If you want to evaluate your Board, then use this Board version of the assessment.)
(If more than one person from your organization will be completing the tool, then you should use the hard-copy, printed version for each person.)

1. Look at your ratings.
2. Any practices that are rated as Not Met or Don't Know should be implemented in your organization over the next year or so.
They should be implemented in the general order that the categories are listed, including: Legal, Human Resources, Strategic Planning, Market Research, Advertising, Public Relations, Customer Service and Sales, and Financial Management.
In a year or so, you might do this same assessment again, to see if you have evolved to the next life cycle.
