Food Waste Study Eligibility Survey Please read the following study description before beginning the survey.This survey is intended for residents and apartment building managers who want to receive a free food scrap device to use until October 2026.This survey is part of a Food Waste Study by Seattle Public Utilities and King County Solid Waste Division. The goal is to learn whether food scrap devices can help people send more food scraps to the right place and reduce contamination. Food scrap devices process, grind, and dry food scraps into food grounds. These grounds can then be used as an ingredient in chicken feed or be placed into the food/yard waste container at your home.To support this study, Seattle and King County are working with Mill to offer the use of free food scrap devices until October 2026 to eligible residents in Seattle and King County. Study participants will have the option to purchase the device at a deeply discounted price after the study ends.To participate in the study, all participants must have continual access to Wi-Fi and agree to: Download the Mill app Connect the food scrap device continually to Wi-Fi and the Mill app Complete a follow-up survey about their experience Share aggregated, anonymized data related to device usage with the study team Use the device for the duration of the study Mail back food grounds from the device using a free mailback service Next
