Introduction
This survey is part of a research project that is being implemented by a regional multi-organizational consortium partnership, operating under the Australian Government’s Pacific Women Lead@SPC program. The project will inform policy, and produce recommendations to management. FNU is one of nine partners in the project consortium. Students are invited to complete this questionnaire as part of the project’s intergeneration knowledge exchange, data collection process. Student perspectives are considered vital to the research and data will be sought from all FNU campuses.
This component of the project aims to provide valuable data and statistics on FNU student perspectives. By collaborating with FNUSA, our project acknowledges the importance of including Pacific Youth views, and that Pacific youth voices and solutions need to be heard. This questionnaire will specifically investigate and analyse student attitudes, perceptions, and views of staff diversity and the participation of women in their academic institution. It will also seek information for better facilitating a diverse range of appropriate Pacific role models. As students are emerging Pacific leaders, this research will help to deepen and enhance an exchange of intergenerational knowledge and improve understanding of the issues surrounding staff diversity, women’s participation, and the importance of these issues to students.
