MOST APPLICATIONS ARE DENIED BECAUSE THE APPLICANT DID NOT SUBMIT THE APPLICATION PROPERLY COMPLETED.

APPLICATIONS THAT ARE SUBMITTED WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS WILL BE DENIED:
  • PROOF OF INCOME: this includes a Paystub, or other current tax forms.
  • PROOF OF CRISIS: Invoice showing the amount of the crisis. FOR EXAMPLE: A police report of a traffic accident is acceptable; a photograph of a wrecked car is not.
  • PROOF OF BILLS PAID: receipts of proof of payment is required for bills paid in the last 30 days. These receipts should equal 80% of the Proof of income document above.
  • DO NOT upload the same document multiple times, this slows the process as each document is reviewed. Uploading the same document multiple times can result in the application being withdrawn.

You will be notified by telephone or by email once the application is reviewed. We will make only two attempts by telephone to reach you. After the second phone call the application will be denied. If we contact you by email, you have 48 hours to respond or the application will be denied.

Because of the high volume of applications that are submitted, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make certain the application is complete. If you upload a password protected document with your application, the application cannot be processed by our automated system and will result in a denial.

In order to be fair to all applicants, we must follow these rules for each application.

The final step if you are approved is to complete a pledge form, generally by electronic signature, NO FUNDS ARE RELEASED UNTIL THIS FINAL STEP IS COMPLETED.

What is a Crisis?/¿Qué es una crisis?

A crisis is a one-time exceptional event that is not expected to occur again. Examples of crisis situations are job lay-offs or loss of job within the last 60 days or unexpected home or car repairs that take all disposable income. Low-income and poverty situations, while unfortunate, are not crisis situations.

What documents are required for an interview to take place?/¿Qué documentos se requieren para que se lleve a cabo una entrevista?

-A document that shows the crisis; such as a PAID car repair bill, a letter of employment termination.
-Proof of income for all household member over the age of 18.
-Most recent Bank Statement (this helps us to understand how the household spends money and pays bills.)
-A letter or ledger from Landlord showing past due rent, and a date when eviction proceeding will begin (if you are seeking rental assistance.)
-receipts for bills paid (these should be uploaded for each question below. If they are clearly stated on the bank statement they may be skipped.)

Yes, we need all your bills in order to determine financial eligibility, a complete listing of all income sources is required, if there is no income, a zero income affidavit must be completed, along with a copy of all expenses and the most recent bank statement.
