Fidelis Community Center Follow-up Survey

More than 100 residents took our initial Fidelis Community Center Planning survey in 2017. Of those who responded, 99% indicated they would use the community center if renovated. Expanded recreation improvements, a better concession stand and other needs were identified as well. This follow-up survey will help us further prioritize the community's requests. While grants may be available to fund additional recreation improvements, other sources of revenue will also need to be identified.

Preservation of the school building in its current location and rehabilitation for use as a community center (costs estimated to exceed $750,000, however this is the option that includes a renovated community center)

(Rehabilitation is defined as the need to alter or add to a historic property to meet continuing or changing uses while retaining the property’s historic character.)

Moving the historic structure to another location within the park boundary, and minimum preservation and restoration efforts ($500,000 - $750,000)

Preservation of the school building in its current footprint ($250,000 - $500,000)

(Preservation focuses on the maintenance and repair of existing historic materials and retention of a property's form as it has evolved over time.)

Demolition of the existing historic structure (less than $250,000)
