FEEDBACK SURVEY

Council has now received an application from their builder TechneBuild for a permit to make changes to the road reserve on Kintore Avenue via removing medians and implementing traffic control/ road closures during the construction at the former Foodland site at 85 Prospect Road, with site works scheduled between January 2024- April 2025.

Changes proposed are to ensure safe access and egress for a 19m truck to make deliveries of materials and plant to site when required with entry and exit via Kintore Avenue as Labrina Avenue is not wide enough to facilitate this type of vehicle.  Truck unloading and turning will be facilitated on site.  Occupation of the footpath on Prospect Road is also proposed via a type B Hoarding which provides pedestrian protection for pedestrians from construction at height but keeps the footpath open.
Prospect Road is an arterial road under the control of the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and due to broader network operational requirements, location of traffic signals and pedestrian infrastructure there can be no direct access to the site from Prospect Road.

Please see Councils Website for an overview of proposed changes we can consider comments on: https://www.prospect.sa.gov.au/development/external-projects/85-prospect-road

We Invite Your Feedback

Under Section 221 and 222 of the Local Government Act 1999, where a permit application is received that would result in any part of road being fenced, enclosed or portioned so as to impede the passage of traffic or make change to a material degree, Council must invite community comment on the application. Community Feedback is then taken into consideration in the determination of the application to grant an authorisation or permit.

For more details on proposed Construction Management for the site please visit: https://www.prospect.sa.gov.au/development/external-projects/85-prospect-road
Once the consultation period has been completed, feedback will be considered in the determination of the application to grant an authorisation or permit. Final approved plans and updates will be able to be found on the project page on Council’s Website.
