INTERNATIONAL SURVEY
Flow Diverter Braid Deformation:
Perceptions, Practices, and Controversies Among Neurointerventionalists

Introduction

Flow diverter braid deformation (FDBD) has emerged as a topic of growing interest and debate in the neurointerventional community. Recent publications have highlighted important gaps in knowledge regarding the clinical significance, risk factors, and optimal management of braid deformation. This survey aims to capture your experience and opinions on FDBD, including its definition, detection, clinical impact, and the factors you believe contribute to its occurrence.

This survey is conducted by the French Task Force on Flow Diverter Braid Deformation* in collaboration with the Research Committee of the European Society of Minimally Invasive Neurological Therapy (ESMINT).

Your responses will help shape future research priorities and inform the development of standardized guidelines. Results will be presented at a major neurointerventional congress and submitted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
