Announcement for Expert HealthSearch

The Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine is now offering a free service to help you get a correct diagnosis for your health problem. This service is for you:

• If you have a diagnosis but are not improving with treatment, or
• If you have not been able to get a diagnosis for your health problem, or
• If you have questions about your diagnosis, and would like more information.

A medical librarian may be able to help you. Medical librarians help by researching articles and books to find the answers to medical questions. Sometimes you or your doctor may find it useful to talk with a medical librarian to find more information about your condition.

A medical librarian can also help you after your diagnosis by recommending books, pamphlets or articles that can give you more information to help with your treatment. The librarian may also be able to connect you with a support group or other people who have the same medical problem as you.

All of your information will be kept confidential and used only to help answer your questions. If you have any additional questions or concerns, contact Barb Jones at jonesbarb@health.missouri.edu. Further questions about this free service can be sent to info@improvediagnosis.org.

You will hear from an Expert HealthSearch librarian within one week unless you indicate the need for a faster response.
