We want to bring an Asian American Art & Culture Center to Evanston which would be the first of its kind in the greater Chicago area.  It's an exciting initiative and we want to hear from you!    This survey is for ALL community members! Anyone who lives, works, attends school in Evanston, used to live in Evanston, and lives or works in nearby neighborhoods (e.g. Skokie, Niles, Rogers Park, Wilmette, etc.)

We're asking you to think about how an Asian American Art & Culture Center could serve the local Asian American community, and the Evanston community-at-large.  What could a physical space that centers ASPA history, art and culture would look like:
  • how would such a space best serve the ASPA Community?
  • how would it benefit the community-at-large?
  • what might take place in this space?
  • what resources would be most useful?

Did you know that over 10% of Evanstonians identify as Asian-American and there are currently NO spaces or services that center the Asian-American experience?  The term Asian American represents over 40 countries and over 50 ethnicities!  (find out who "Asian Americans" are here)

In this survey we refer to the Asian American community as ASPA which stands for Asian, South Asian, Pacific Islander American.  It will take 5-10 minutes to complete and is anonymous unless you’d like to share your contact info.

Thank you for your time!
