Welcome to the external review survey of the ERBP Clinical Practice Guideline on Vascular Access for Haemodialysis in Adults
Welcome to ERBP's external review survey of the ERBP Clinical Practice Guideline on Vascular Access for Haemodialysis in Adults.

About this guideline

Over the last few years, a working group of European Renal Best Practice (ERBP) and the Vascular Access Society (VAS) have been developing a Clinical Practice Guideline on Vascular Access for Haemodialysis in Adults. We have now finalised this interesting process, which, as you can imagine, was hard work for all members of the group.

The guideline was developed following a rigorous methodological approach:
- identification and selection of a representative workgroup, consisting of experts in transplantation (nephrologists, surgeons, immunologists) and methodologists;
- identification and prioritisation of clinical questions;
- systematic literature review and critical appraisal of the available evidence;
- formulation of recommendations and grading according to GRADE;
- comparison with existing guidelines, when available;
- suggestions for future research.

To avoid having a wordy and lengthy textbook, we followed a strict format to keep the text as concise as possible:
- background i.e. what was the clinical problem that we wanted to analyse;
- summary of the evidence: a short objective and critical report of data available in the literature;
- translation of the evidence into recommendations: a short written report of the discussions and argumentations in the workgroup during the formulation of the recommendation;
- other guidelines on this topic;
- suggestions for future research.

Confidentiality

We appreciate your willingness to review the statements and as a sign of appreciation, your name could be listed as an external reviewer in the final document if you select this option at the end of our survey.

You may choose only one answer for each question (closed-ended questions) and all closed-ended responses are mandatory in order to proceed.
