Dietetics Workforce Capacity and Demand Project Employer Survey

The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Dietetics Workforce Capacity and Demand Project Task Force is inviting you to take a survey.

In this survey,

  • the term employer refers to anyone who currently oversees, has overseen, or plans to oversee registered dietitians (RDs) or dietetic technicians, registered (DTRs), in a supervisory, managerial, or administrative role; and
  • the term RD refers to both registered dietitians and registered dietitian nutritionists, and the term DTR refers to both dietetic technicians, registered, and nutrition and dietetics technicians, registered.
What is the purpose of the survey?

The purpose of this survey is to inform the CDR Dietetics Workforce Capacity and Demand Project which will gather comprehensive data on the current and projected capacity and demand for RDs and DTRs across diverse settings. Even if RDs or DTRs are not your sole or primary employee group, your input is essential to accurately assess workforce needs, identify service gaps, and inform strategic planning at both local and national levels.

A proactive and multi-faceted approach is needed to align the dietetics workforce with an evolving professional landscape, prioritize roles within expanding industries, and incorporate technological advancements and data driven tools. By participating, you contribute to a clearer picture of challenges employers face — from recruiting and retaining qualified professionals, to integrating RDs and DTRs into interprofessional teams.
What will I do?

You will answer questions about your employment of RDs and DTRs.

What are the risks of taking the survey?

By completing this survey, you will help
