Introduction

Following Hurricane Harvey, the state’s “Eye of the Storm” report outlined a series of recommendations on various emergency management functions.  As a result, the 86th Texas Legislature via HB-2305 and SB-6 directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to convene a working group to develop recommendations for enhancing the training and possible credentialing of emergency management directors, coordinators and other emergency management personnel charged with overseeing response and recovery efforts at the state or local level.

To that end, the Emergency Management Professional Development (EMPD) Working Group was formed and is collaborating on the development of such recommendations.  This survey is intended to capture the input of emergency management professionals directly impacted by these recommendations.

This is an ongoing effort and no draft recommendations are final.

Your participation is critical to the success of this effort.

More information and regular updates about the EMPD Working Group is available at https://tdem.texas.gov/empdwg/.

This survey has 35 questions and will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. We appreciate you taking the time to help us with this important topic.
