Purpose
In September 2023, the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR) released the EDI toolkit providing a comprehensive plan to improve equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within Radiology in Canada. As a continuation of these efforts, an EDI Monitoring Working Group was created in September 2024 aimed at reviewing and enhancing EDI policies and initiatives. As part of this mandate a national survey was developed to review the effectiveness of national EDI policies on the local institutions for radiologists and trainees.

Your participation in this survey is greatly appreciated. Your input will inform CAR on the current state of departmental/institutional efforts of EDI policies for staff members, residents and fellows. The total survey time is estimated to take around 10 minutes. The deadline to complete is July 1, 2026.

Voluntary Participation and Freedom to Withdraw

This survey is a voluntary research project. Whether or not individuals participate will not impact their CAR membership or employment/professional standing. Participants can choose to skip any questions they do not wish to complete. Participants can withdraw from the study at any point by exiting the survey without submitting their responses. However, once responses are submitted, it will not be possible to withdraw the data as it will not be linked back to an individual.

Anonymity and Data Protection
This survey is anonymous, and participant responses will be used solely to inform future planning of EDI initiatives and strategies. Please be assured that answers cannot be linked to individuals personally and all data is anonymized when submitted. Responses will be analyzed by the research team; only aggregate summary information will be shared more broadly, such as if the results of this survey are published or presented at meetings. All data will be stored in a secure drive and only researchers involved with the project will be able to access this data.
