* 10. The ECLP is composed of the following subcommittees:

Community and Member Engagement Subcommittee: The Community and Member Engagement Subcommittee provides a venue for members of the other subcommittees as well as Early Career Scientists in the GSA to connect with each other through online seminars, such as Science in a Snapshot and virtual networking events.

Career Development Subcommittee: The Career Development Subcommittee supports early career scientists who are navigating their career trajectories by organizing career development workshops and writing Decoding Life articles to shed light on the career options available to scientists in the field of genetics.

Communication and Outreach Subcommittee: The Communication and Outreach Subcommittee provides a collaborative and inclusive environment to work with early career scientists in developing their science communication skills through science writing for the general public, workshops, and other initiatives.

Policy and Advocacy Subcommittee: The Policy and Advocacy Subcommittee aims to provide an interdisciplinary opportunity for early career scientists interested in developing their skills in science policy and advocacy through workshops, career informational interviews, and networking events.

Multimedia Subcommittee: The Multimedia Subcommittee focuses on developing skills related to technological formats. The initial project involves producing a new Genetics Society of America podcast called Genetics In Your World which highlights GSA Journal articles. 

Accessibility & Disability Advocacy Subcommittee: The Accessibility & Disability Advocacy Subcommittee aims to make ECLP’s leadership and training opportunities more inclusive of scientists with disabilities. It consists of liaisons from each ECLP subcommittee and other GSA members who help raise awareness within the ECLP about the challenges and needs of scientists with disabilities and ideate ways to adopt a combination of universal design approaches to improve accessibility of ECLP’s projects and resources.

* 12. The ECLP Steering Committee is composed of the co-chairs of each subcommittee. Each ECLP subcommittee has two cochairs. They meet with the GSA Executive Director and members of the Board of Directors to discuss the direction of the Early Career Leadership Program, as well as share resources and establish collaborative projects between the subcommittees. The Steering Committee provides guidance to the ECLP subcommittees and facilitates projects, events, and proposals.
