E-cigarette Usage Survey
Study Information
E-cigarettes are battery operated devices (also called electronic pens) used for vaping nicotine.
The purpose of this survey is to investigate how e-cigarettes are being used, why people are switching to e-cigarettes if they smoke, and whether there are any emerging health and public safety concerns associated with e-cigarette use.
Information is being collected for a class research project in CJUS 311 (Research Methods in Criminal Justice). This is a voluntary and confidential survey. Also, we implemented data collection procedures to ensure that the information is anonymous. If you feel uncomfortable with any of the questions asked within this survey, please feel free to skip the question or stop answering. The risks to participating are minimal as research procedures will keep your information private; the most significant risk is that you may come to view your behavior as being unsafe. The benefit of participating is that you will help us to understand more about the risks associated with e-cigarette use. Your participation is greatly appreciated. This should take no more than 20 minutes. The data will be used by students in a class project. Only grouped, averaged responses will be used. Individual answers will not be reported. It is expected that about 700 people will participate in this study. This survey has been approved by the Institutional Review Board of California State University, San Bernardino.
To participate in the survey, you must be 18 years of age or older and have used an e-cigarette at least once in the prior year.
