Introduction

A 10 year review and full update to the Driggs Comprehensive Plan is underway. As the city launches this effort, we’d like the community’s opinion on the current Comprehensive Plan and also an initial response to the topics the city proposes to analyze.

A Comprehensive Plan is a document that guides the future actions of a community. It presents a vision for the future, with long range goals and objectives for all activities that affect the community, in particular land use decisions.

This survey should take approx. 5 minutes to complete.
The 2007 Comprehensive Plan is currently broken up into 14 topics that were researched and analyzed using U.S. Census data, State of Idaho data, and regional and local plans and studies. The current topics are:

1. PROPERTY RIGHTS
2. POPULATION
3. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
4. TRANSPORTATION
5. RECREATION
6. NATURAL RESOURCES
7. SPECIAL AREAS & SITES
8. COMMUNITY DESIGN
9. HOUSING
10. PUBLIC SERVICES, FACILITIES and UTILITIES
11. HAZARDOUS AREAS
12. SCHOOL FACILITIES and TRANSPORTATION
13. LAND USE
14. IMPLEMENTATION

The community then identified 19 different goals with corresponding objectives related to the findings from these topics. In order to meet those goals and objectives, 218 specific actions were identified. The City reviewed the progress of the distinct Actions and found that almost half have been completed:
