Pickleball is a fast-growing sport and is fun for all ages to play.

DPR provides a variety of programs for the public to participate in such as Pickleball drop-in play, a Pickleball Ladder, Pickleball tournaments and other recreational opportunities to play pickleball. DPR has (6) six tennis courts at Garrett Rd. Park and (1) one tennis court at Forest Hills Park that have permanent pickleball lines as well as tennis lines. Sharing courts with tennis and pickleball has worked moderately well, but athletes prefer their own sports court. Currently, DPR has no dedicated pickleball courts, however, we are developing long term plans for facilities designated just for pickleball. Developing new park facilities can take years and must compete against all other new city priorities. DPR would like to better serve the pickleball community in the short term.

In the next few years, DPR will be renovating Northgate Park Tennis Courts. Planners are considering redeveloping the two tennis courts at Northgate Park into four dedicated pickleball courts to accommodate the sport in the near term. DPR’s first approach when making a change to a facility such as this one is reaching out to the community on their feedback. Your feedback will help guide our renovation and help us better serve the athletic community.
