When you type in a website name that ends in .nz, those are the domain names InternetNZ looks after. Other countries and entities look after other domains - for example .au in Australia and .eu for Europe. So .nz is ours for New Zealand.
InternetNZ is doing a review of the .nz policies which set out the rules and procedures for anyone owning a .nz domain name. The review will make sure .nz is modern, robust, safe and world-class. It will consider some big topics like scamming, trolling, hate speech and equal opportunities for all.
This survey seeks your input into some of the broad themes and challenges that InternetNZ is considering as part of this review. This is the just the start of the review and it's anticipated to be complete in 2020. There will be more opportunities to engage as this process continues. Check out the InternetNZ website for ways to stay updated.
InternetNZ is a not-for-profit member organisation, and the home and guardian of the .nz domain name space. InternetNZ will be ensuring that all policies align with its vision of an Internet that is open, secure and accessible to all New Zealanders.
