This survey is being done to address the concerns of DMV field office employees not being able to take their PLP 2012 day off at a time of their choosing - due to "operational needs.". A possible solution to this issue is closing the Field offices one day a month. If there is enough support from the DMV field staff, there maybe an opportunity to convince DMV and the DPA to consider closing the DMV field offices one day a month. Closing the field offices one day a month would achieve the goal of payroll savings and also reduce utility and security costs. Overtime costs associated with higher wait times and short staffing would also be reduced and employees would have a set day off.
