Tasmanian councils play a key role in ensuring communities are vibrant, inclusive and supportive of all citizens.

As part of this role, the Central Coast Council wants to help people living with dementia to enjoy a high quality of life with meaning, purpose and value.  The journey started in 2017 with our Dementia-Friendly Community Framework and Action Plan.

The Council are now reviewing the Action Plan with support by the Tasmanian Health Service, and your dementia insight will help inform it.  When completed the Action Plan will form the basis for collective action by the Council, people living with dementia, carers and service providers and community stakeholders.

As part of our effort to make sure the Action Plan reflects local perspectives and priorities, we are inviting all people with a stake in the Central Coast community to complete this survey. This survey will ask:

  • A little about you
  • About your dementia knowledge
  • What you believe and think about dementia
  • About your ideas for making the Central Coast a more dementia-friendly community.

If you feel upset or concerned about any of the issues raised in this survey, we encourage you to call the National Dementia Helpline on 1800 100 500.

Your responses will be anonymous and not linked to you personally. Your participation is completely voluntary and you may stop the survey at any time. Data from the survey will help the Council to create a more dementia-friendly Central Coast
