FCCC Committee Descriptions


The Faculty Council of Community College requires that all DELEGATES serve on a committee. ALTERNATES are encouraged to serve on a committee as well. Here is a brief description of each Committee:

FCCC Standing Committees

  • The Academic and Student Affairs Committee serves as a source of professional advice and guidance to the Faculty Council on matters relating to academic issues throughout the SUNY community college system.   • The Awards Committee serves as the resource for the Faculty Council of Community Colleges on SUNY Recognition Awards and Programs and facilitates the Faculty Council Service Award. For more information on the Awards Committee, go to: http://www.fccc.suny.edu/committees/awards_comm.html.
  • The Governance Committee serves as the resource for the Faculty Council of Community College on issues concerning campus governance, working with local campus governance leaders and advocating within SUNY to promote strong shared governance.   • The Communication and Professional Development Committee develops and facilitates effective communication and professional development opportunities for the delegates and alternates of the FCCC, the campus governance leaders, and other faculty on the individual campuses.   • The Education Initiatives Committee serves as a source of professional advice and guidance to the Faculty Council of Community Colleges on matters relating to emerging academic issues.
