The Deer-Forest Study will be studying deer movements for the month of October in 2013 and 2014. This is your opportunity to make predictions about how deer move in response to environmental conditions (e.g., moonlight and weather) during the archery season!
We have locations of deer every 3 hours and can use those data to estimate deer speed (miles/hr), miles traveled per 3-hour interval and sum those distances to get total miles traveled per day.
Also, for each day we have maximum temperature, minimum temperature, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, cloud cover, and moon phase.
On the following pages are a series of questions where you can give your opinion about how these factors affect deer movements. At the end of the questionnaire will be an opportunity to share other ideas you may have!
We will be sharing results from this poll on The Deer-Forest Blog.
