Survey for all who have an interest in Day Opportunities

Context: Day Opportunities are services that help people’s health and wellbeing and provide the opportunity to take part in various interests and activities, meeting with friends, develop relationships and obtain new skills. They are important in supporting people with disabilities, people experiencing mental health problems and older people to maintain and develop new skills, prevent social isolation and support inclusion in the community.

These services are currently being recommissioned. Our aim is to improve the services to people who need care and support in a more person-centred way that gives more choice and control in their lives. We want to build on the best of what we currently offer, adapting to meet the expectations of our current and future customers and their families.

We believe day opportunities are about supporting the lives of people so that they can reach their goals and live fulfilling lives in the way that they choose. We want to enable people to be truly part of their communities as citizens with a valuable contribution to offer.

We want to have community opportunities available for people who need care and support, so that
  • They can take part in a range of community activities.
  • Activities that are available not just in the day but in the evenings and weekends too.
  • There are local activities in order that travel is minimised.
Purpose: This survey is to gather your views on the current services and any ideas you may have to help us improve the day opportunities on offer.
