The NIH data sharing policy went into effect January 25, 2023; researchers are required to submit and comply with a data management and sharing plan for ALL scientific data. While the expectations are flexible, NIH highly encourages data sharing in a manner that enables validation of research results, provides accessibility to high-value datasets, and promotes data reuse for future research studies.
