In most circumstances non-profits and publicly-funded organizations are ineligible to receive funds for Customized Training.

Businesses must propose to train a minimum of 10 employees. Trainees do not have to participate in the same training(s). If your business does not meet this requirement, you may work with another company to apply as a consortium to meet the requirement.

9.Are you planning on applying as a consortium? (A consortium is two companies or organizations applying jointly to participate in the Customized Training Program under one contract.)
10.Do all trainees you plan on training earn less than $79,258/year ($38.10/hour)?(Required.)
The Customized Training program requires that all proposed trainees receive a wage increase as a direct result of training.
11.Are you willing and able to provide a wage increase to all trainees upon the completion of training?(Required.)
12.Will your trainees be offered full time employment (30+ hour/week) upon the completion of training?(Required.)

Proposed training must be completed within one year.
Customized Training must be used for training that is new, expanded, or enhanced. Legally required training(s) are not eligible for reimbursement.

Customized Training award amounts are between $30,000 to $400,000. SBS covers 50-60% of eligible training costs with the business' contribution being either 40-50%. The business is required to pay for the costs of training upfront.
