Dear Members,

Thank you for taking the time to review these draft guidelines on cultural response/ability in training, research, practice, supervision, advocacy & organizational Change.

This document is the result of the NADTA’s longstanding commitment to championing the diversity and dignity of its members and of those who receive services from drama therapists. These guidelines were drafted by Dr. Nisha Sajnani in collaboration with members of the diversity committee: Jessica Bleuer (Chair), Patrick Tomczyc, and Jami Osborne. This document was also influenced by contributions from Dr. Ditty Dokter, Mandy Carr, and Sarah Bilodeau of the British Association of Dramatherapists’ Equality and Diversity Sub-Committee as well as the participants of the 2014 NADTA Diversity Forum: Christine Mayor, Christine Opolko, Andrew Gaines, Diana Elizabeth Jordan, Britton Williams, Saphira Linden, Deborah French Frisher, Truc Nguyen, Stephanie Bayne, Adam Davis, and Antoinetta Dellicarpini.

These six guidelines are now being circulated to you for feedback and will also be reviewed by the NADTA Board at their June 2015 meeting. It is expected that these guidelines will continue be modified through open consultative processes as deemed necessary.

On each page you will see a place for your comments, questions, and/or suggestions. Thank you for contributing to this process!
