The purpose of this survey is to compile preliminary information about the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the Canadian early learning and child care sector. The data will be used to inform policies to improve the situation, to support the child care sector and for public information. The survey is being carried out by the Canadian Child Care Federation, the Childcare Resource and Research Unit and Child Care Now.

Please complete this survey if you are a Director/Manager/Owner/Provider – the person responsible for the daily operation of a single licensed/ regulated full or part day child care centre or a single family child care home, whether individually licensed/regulated or working with a family child care agency. That is, one survey refers to one child care centre or one family child care home.

If this description does not fit you, please pass it on to the person responsible for your child care centre or family child care home. Please note that unlicensed and license-not-required child care are not included in this survey.

Your participation is extremely valuable.  It should only take you about 15 minutes to complete the survey. You can complete it over more than one session without having to start over. You can end the survey at any time, and almost all of the questions are optional.

As the information you provide will help us better understand the current challenges and help inform future child care policy development, we are most appreciative of all the help you can provide.  Information you provide in this survey will not be used for purposes other than those described. All responses are confidential and will only be reported as group data. Only the researchers have access to individual responses; nothing that can identify you or your workplace will be used in any publication or presentation of the survey results.

Please complete the survey by May 18th, 2020. If you have any questions or concerns, please email crru.covid.survey@gmail.com
