You are invited to participate in an anonymous research project investigating what collegiality is and how it can be measured in business schools. This research is being conducted by Professor Morgan Miles from the School of Management at the University of Tasmania and Professor David Shepherd from Georgia Southern University.
What is the purpose of this study?
The purpose of this research is to explore what collegiality is defined to be and how best to measure it.
Why have I been invited to participate?
You are invited to participate in this study as you have been identified as a faculty member of a business school.
What will I be asked to do?
Should you agree to participate in this study, we would ask you to provide ten minutes of your time to complete an on-line survey.
It is important that you understand that your involvement is this study is voluntary. Whilst your participation would be greatly appreciated, we respect your right to decline. There will be no consequences for you if you decide not to participate, and doing so will not affect you negatively in any way. If you decide to discontinue participation at any time, you may do so without providing an explanation. Any information you provide will be stored securely at the University of Tasmania and will only be accessed by members of the research team.
Are there any possible benefits from participation in this study?
The information provided by participants in this study will help to provide insight and awareness regarding what collegiality is and how it can be measured.
Are there any possible risks from participation in this study?
None
What if I change my mind during or after the study?
Your participation in this study is voluntary, and as such, you are free to withdraw your participation at any time without explanation or ill effect.
What will happen to the information when this study is over?
All data collected during this study will be treated in a confidential manner, and stored securely at the University of Tasmania. Data in hard-copy form will be stored within a locked filing cabinet in the locked office of the researcher. Electronic data will be saved onto the University of Tasmania’s secure server, which is password protected. Access to this data will be restricted to members of the research team. Data will be stored for a period of at least five (5) years from the date of first publication, after which it will be destroyed.
How will the results of the study be published?
It is anticipated that the findings of this research will be published in relevant scholarly journals.
