The ACT Government’s Capital of Equality Strategy aims to ensure Canberra is a place where LGBTIQ+ people, their families and communities are visible, valued and respected. The Office of LGBTIQ+ Affairs coordinates and supports delivery of the Strategy.
Purpose of this survey
Insights from this survey will support the review of the current Capital of Equality Strategy and the design of the next strategy. This survey is open to anyone of diverse gender, sex, sexuality, bodies and/or relationships. We use the acronym LGBTIQ+ for ease during the survey but recognise that the diversity of your communities may not be captured by a single acronym.
The purpose of this survey is to:
  • Capture your views on the progress towards equality for your communities.
  • Identify actions to make the ACT more welcoming and inclusive for LGBTIQ+ people.
Completing the survey
The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Free text responses will be aggregated and synthesised into themes, and individual responses will not be shared. All your survey responses will be kept anonymous and private and we won’t share your responses with anyone else. Your de-identified data can be used in a report for the Office of LGBTIQ+ Affairs. Once you pass the demographics questions your data can be used in our analysis. If you change your mind and want your answers excluded, please email
