Unlocked and Inspired - Coach the Coaches Application

Over the last 6 + years Ontario’s Southwest has invested in Experiential Tourism Development training in partnership with Celes Davar, of Earth Rhythms . In that time, we have brought together over 180 tourism & hospitality participants to learn about the value proposition of Experiential Tourism. Tourism stakeholders have learned how experiences can add value to their business and be beneficial to their community and destination. We have planted the seeds of hope for how tourism can be a force for good and have seen how our alumni of the program have successfully applied their learning into action. Several alumni have gone on to be designated as an Ontario’s Southwest Signature Experience and have won awards for their innovation, storytelling and sustainability contributions to the tourism landscape.

This year, Ontario’s Southwest will be focusing on capacity building and will be facilitating a “Coach the Coaches” program. In this program, we will take you into the world of coaching where we will discuss how to coach Experience Partners through the ideation, creation, and implementation of experiential tourism. Participants will learn how these practices fit into the way we look at our communities to help others develop their stories into experiences and how to scan for those community gems. We will learn about sustainable and regenerative tourism practices and why it should be the foundation of all the work we do, as well as learning the craft and importance of open-ended questions.

Participants will be taken out of the classroom and into the field to take part in firsthand learning with several incredible award-winning experience hosts, where we will learn the value and impact that coaching has had on them.

We will provide tangible take-away tools that can be put into practice including a guide to coaching, a guide to experiential tourism development, and much more! You will leave this course equipped to begin your coaching journey.

Class size will be a small group of 12 resolute, passionate, and committed participants who are ready to learn and bring their coaching skills to Ontario’s Southwest businesses and communities. We are only accepting 12 participants so that it gives a chance to practice higher-order thinking skills, provide the opportunity for group micro experiences, 1:1 mentorship, and generate group discussions where everyone can participate and form community.
